EPRDF to cut members

Ethiopian Peoples Revolutionary Democratic Party (EPRDF), the ruling party in Ethiopia is going to cut the number of its members.

According to sources, the Party will sack a good number of its members in all regions of the country and mainly in Addis Abeba.

"EPRDF will no more go on with dormant members. From now on, being a member of EPRDF is based on the excellence of recruits, not something that anyone can join in." a source within the Party told De Birhan.

The party currently has five million members in the country, starting from October 2011, it plans to dismiss one third of these.
