Emperor Menelik II GCB, GCMG, (Ge'ez ምኒልክ) baptized as Sahle Maryam WAS BORN ON 17 August 1844 ,in Angolela AND DIED ON 12 December 1913. He was Negus/King of Shewa (1866-1889), then Nəgusä Nägäst of Ethiopia from 1889 to his death.

Yes! Emperor Menlik the second is one of greatest king of kings of Ethiopia. As direct desendant of Empereor Yikuno Amlak, Amde tsion, Yishak, Zerayakob, Libene Dingel and the grand son of King Sahile Selasse of Shoa.
Others such as Yohanes and Theodros are Shiftas who ascend to the Ethiopian throne.
