The
protest of the students of University of Gonder, Ethiopia , that started on
the 26th of November 2011 is on its fourth day today.
Dozens
of students have reportedly been dying. The University Adminsiatration and Police have refused to disclose the names, and number of dead students. Students who sought to get the bodiesof their dead friends have also been refused. “Many students are dying in the campus due to absence of
hospital spaces and doctors.” The source said. The definite number dead students
is yet unknown.
According
to sources, dozens of students are dying due to the ‘contagious disease’ that
affected over 5000 students.
A
student from Tewodros campus told De
Birhan Media that he was shown a list of over 5000 students, admitted to
the Hospital until today. The situation in Gonder is tense.
Vehicles
coming in and out of Gonder town are searched by police. Doctors in Gonder
University Hospital have said that the disease could be waterborne or emanated from
food poison.
