The number of students, who died after consuming poisonous substance (food or drink) in the University of Gonder, has reportedly reached 17. Students of both Maraki and Tewodros Campus refused to resume class in protest to the death of their fellow students and denial of rights questions. The University administration has posted a notice, ordering students to start class.
The news of the death of the students has been blackout by the Ethiopian State media for fear of nationwide protests.
