Party paper reports Seyoum is acting PM of Ethiopia

Ethiopia's Ambassador to China, Seyoum Mesfin has returned to Addis Abeba and is leading the country in charge of Prime Minister Meles' post in collaboration with few members of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) who accompanied him back, the Addis Abeba based, Finote Netsanet, Official Newspaper of the opposition Unity for Democracy and Justice (UDJ) Party reported . 

De Birhan had phoned the Ethiopian Embassy in China and was informed that Ambassador Seyoum Mesfin is "away from Beijing for few days"  and was advised to phone back after five days. A follow up question from De Birhan on Seyoum's exact location was responded by his office as " in a remote region in China". 

Seyoum Mesfin Gebredingel, born January 25, 1949, was Ethiopia's Foreign Minister from 1991 until September 2010 and has subsequently served as Ethiopia's Ambassador to the People's Republic of China. He is also one of the founders of  Tigrayan Peoples' Liberation Front and a veteran of the current leadership in Ethiopia. 

Meles Zenawi has been absent from public view and his post since he was reported sick in mid June 2012. Various outlets are reporting that the Prime Minister has died.

የፍኖተ ነፃነት ታማኝ ምንጮች እንደገለፁት የቻይና ዲፕሎማቶች ከህወሓት ከፍተኛ አመራሮች ጋር ባደረጉት ድርድር የቀድሞ የውጭ ጉዳይ ሚኒስትር አምባሳደር ስዩም መስፍን ከቻይና ኮሚኒስት ፓርቲ ከፍተኛ አመራር ጋር በመምጣት ቤተመንግስት ሆነው የመሪነቱን ሚና እየተጫወቱ መሆኑን ጠቁመዋል፡፡ የዝግጅት ክፍላችን ይህንን ለማጣራት የመንግስት ኮሚኒኬሽን ጉዳዮች ጽ/ቤት ኃላፊ የሆኑት አቶ በረከት ስምዖን ጋር ተደጋጋሚ የስልክ ጥሪ ቢያደርግም ስልካቸው ባለመነሳቱ ሐሳባቸውን ማካተት አልቻልንም፡፡ 

የውጭ ጉዳይ ሚኒስቴር ቃል አቀባይ አምባሳደር ዲና ሙፍቲን ጠይቀናቸው “አምባሳደር ስዩም መስፍን በአሁን ወቅት በቻይና የኢትዮጵያ ባለሙሉ ሥልጣን አምባሳደር ናቸው፡፡ መደበኛ ሥራቸውም ይሄ ነው፤ ከዛ ውጭ እንደማንኛውም አምባሳደር ለስራ ጉዳይ ሀገር ቤት ይመጣሉ” በማለት ተጨማሪ ሀሳብ ከመስጠት ተቆጥበዋል፡፡ በተለይ የጠቅላይ ሚኒስትሩን ጤና አስመልክቶ የተለያዩ አስተያየቶች በተለያዩ ብዙኃን መገናኛዎች እየተገለፀ ቢሆንም በቅርቡ የመንግስት ኮሚኒኬሽን ጉዳዮች ጽ/ ቤት የጠ/ሚኒስትሩን መታመምና በህክምና ላይ መሆናቸውን እንዲሁም እረፍት እንደሚያስፈልጋቸው በሐኪሞቻቸው እንደተነገራቸው ከማሳወቅ ውጭ በአሁኑ ወቅት ሀገሪቱን በግልፅ ማን እየመራ እንዳለ ከመግለፅ በመቆጠቡ ይታወሳል፡፡
