A latest military power ranking information by GlobalFirepower.com (GFP) last updated on 7/5/2011 has put Ethiopia's military power ranking 44th out of 55 nations it listed. United States ranks number one in the list followed by Russia and China respectively. According to the ranking Ethiopia's military is powerful than many gulf countries, and European countries such as Belgium and Portugal.
GFP puts Ethiopia's active military to 182,500 in the year 2011, the total land weapons to 3,098 and the total aircraft to 703.
Strikingly, GFP puts the total number of Ethiopian population to 90,873,739. In a similar revelation, GFP reports that although Ethiopia has 00 bbl/Day oil production, it unveils that Ethiopia has 430,000 bbl/Day Proven Reserves. In terms of finance,, Ethiopia has a Defense Budget of $450,000,000, Reserves of Foreign Exchange & Gold of $1,880,000,000 and Purchasing Power of $86,120,000,000.
