The Eastern region of Ethiopia including Harar, Dire Dawa and Ogaden have been affected with total power and water outages for the past two weeks. The region is known for its warmth and heat that survival without water or power will worsen the already difficult livelihood. The Ethiopian Electric Corporation today announced that the region will region power in the coming four days. It said the cause of the outages was "burglary of power transformers and cables". Although Ethiopia frequently attested that it is building dams and is even exporting electricity to neighboring countries, most regions and cities of the country suffer from regular power interruptions and outages.
