Several Ethiopian netizens and Ethiopian online media outlets are reporting that Ethiopia’s international airport, Bole International Airport, Addis Abeba, is currently crowded with hundreds of people deported from the U.S. by the Trump administration. The deportees are reportedly from Sudan, Somalia and Yemen among whom include legal U.S. residents.
It is unknown why they were deported back to Ethiopia when they are citizens of other countries. It is not immediately also clear if Ethiopia was being used as a transit.

Asked by a local pro-government media outlet, Ethiopia’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Dr. Workineh Gebyehu refused to comment on the matter saying “I have no information on the matter.”
There are no details if there were Ethiopians among the deportees.
