A corpse of an Ethiopian Orthodox Christian monk, who died at the age of 160, 110 years ago, has been discovered in the monasteries of Yerer, in the outskirts of Addis Abeba city, Ethiopia. Discovered and opened to public view by the monks of the Church, the corpse of the monk, Aba Sahlemariam, remained intact for the past 110 years without the application of any artificial mummy or preservative. It is being visited by local and international visitors. Aba Gebrekidan Tesfaye, the Head Administrator of the Yerer Webaheta Church, said he found the corpse in the main cave (now named after him the Aba Sahlemariam Cave) kneeling in a praying position wearing his clothes and crosses.
