The author of the book “Priests and Politicians. Protestant and Catholic Missions in Orthodox Ethiopia 1830 – 1868 (Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1972), Land and Society in the Christian Kingdom of Ethiopia: From the Thirteenth to the Twentieth Century (Urbana, IL: University of Illinois Press , 2000) jointly published with James Currey Publisher, Oxford, and Addis Ababa University Press and several over 160 publications on Ethiopian issues, Prof. Donald E. Crummey has died on Friday, 16 August 2013.
Prof. Donald Crummey was Professor Emeritus of History and former Director of the Center for African Studies at Illinois and many other Universities.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, 21 August, 2013 at 3:30 PM at the St. John the Devine Episcopal Chapel, located at 1011 S. Wright Street in Champaign.
