An amateur video leaked to the Diaspora media outlet Oromo Media Network(OMN) reveals what the core and axis of the Ethiopian ruling EPRDF Front,the TPLF, has secretly decided to do in order to solve the political crises in Ethiopia. The meeting was held recently in Germany with only ethnic Tigre Diaspora members. The medium of communication was also Tigre. Getachew Reda, formerly the Minister for Government Communication of Ethiopia and now one of the nine executive members of the TPLF, led the meeting as well as EC member of the EPRDF.
Although he generally focused on Tigre’s regional politics and issues, in terms of solving the national political instability and crises, he suggested a security approach is going to be the next course of action.
He said “we will first stop attacks and violence in the country. Then, those that should be hit will be hit, those that should be sacked will be fired and those that should be sidelined will be sidelined.”
Getachew’s speech proves that the declaration of the State of Emergency (SoE) last month was planned by the TPLF as a measure of controlling all forms of protest and dissent by legislating an order that doesn’t tolerate any form of dissent and shackle the public with fear. It also makes it clear that the next steps of the measures are going to be detaining individuals from all sectors of the public considered to be dissenters and systematically removing high profile officials of the regime. This is called the security approach rather than the peace approach which finds a long term and negotiated radical solution to the deep political crises in Ethiopia. It aims to forcefully quash and hush all forms of dissent to rule in an absolute totalitarian dictatorship perhaps applying the approaches by Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to solve the dissent and crises in their courntries.

“ትግራዋይ መበለጥን አይፈልግም፣ ትግራዋይ ለአማራ፣ ለኦሮሞ፣ ለሶማሌ ሊጠረጥርና ሊያጎነብስ ነውር ነው።” – ጌታቸው አሰፋ
“ከሁሉም ነገር በላይ ግን ትግራዋይ እየተሸነፍኩ ነው የሚል እሳቤ ለአማራ ሊጠረጥርና ሊያጎነብስ፣ ለኦሮሞ ሊጠረጥርና ሊያጎነበስ፣ እንደ ህዝብ ለሶማሌ ሊጠረጥርና ሊያጎነበስነውር ነው! ይህ በትግራዋይ ታሪክ አልነበረም!!
“ከሁሉም በላይ ደግሞ ትግራዋይ መበለጥን አይፈልግም። ልማት የሚፈልግና የሚያከብር ትግራዋይ ያ ትክክለኛ ትግራዋይ ነው። በራሳችን ድክመት አደጋ ላይ የወደቀውን ትግራዋይ ግን ልናድነው ሃላፊነት አለብን!
የህወሃቱ ከፍትኛ ባለስልጣ ጌታቸው ረዳ ሰሞኑን በጀረመን ፍራንክፈት በተካሄደው በሚስጥር ትግሬዎች በተሰበሰቡበት ስብሰባ ላይ ከተናገራቸው ውስጥ፡-
– ጥቃቶች በየቦታው እየተካሄዱ ነው ያሉት። ስለዚህ ማስቀኦም አለብን።
– ጥቃቶችን ካስቆም በኋላ መመታት ያለበትን መምታት፣ ሊባረረ የሚገባውን ማባረር፣ ገለል ሊል የሚገባውን ገለል በማደረግ “አገራችንን” [ትግራይን ማለቱ መሆን አለብት] መለወጥ መቻል አለበን።
– ይህ የእኛ ብቻ ሃብት ነው፣ ለእኛ ብቻ ይገባናል የሚባል ነገር የለም። ኢትዮጵያ የእኛም የሁላችንም ናት።
– ከሁሉ በላይ ልነግራችሁ የምፈልገው TPLF የራሳችን የሆነ መስመር እስከያዝን ድረሳሁንም ደግሞ መስመሬ ይዠ እቀጥላለሁ ነው ያለው።
– እኔ ዛሬ ብዙ መናገር አልፈልግም። ይህ የህልውናችን ጉዳይ ነው።
– ኢህ አፓ፣ ኦነግ የሚባሉ ሁሉም የተለያዩ ድርጅቶች እዚያው ነበሩ። በዚያን ግዜ ጠላት አድርገው የሚወስዱት ግን የትግራይን ህዝብ ነው። ትግራዋይ ለምን?
– አትጨነቁ፣ ምንም የሚያስጨነቅ ነገር የለውም። የትግራይ ህዝብ ሥራዓት የቀየረ እነዚህን ሃይሎች ደግፎና መሪ ሆኖ ስለመጣ ነው አሁን ይህ ሁሉ ጫጫታ። ሊያንበረክክቱ ይፈልጋሉ።
– ትግራዋይ ወጥተው እንደዚህ ያደርጋሉ ይባባል። እነሱ ናቸው ፎቆችን የሚሰሩት ይባላል። ብዙ አልሰራነም። እነሱ ግን ይሰሩበት ነበር። በኋላ መስመራችን ቀይረን ወደ ህዝብ መግባት የጀመርንበት ሰዓት አሁን ነው። ድንገት እየተወያየን አሁን ነው ወደ ህዝቡ መግባት የጀመርነው። እዩት ስንፍናችን!!
– እንድስማማ ኢህ አህ አዴግም እንደ ኢህ አዴግ Responsibility ወይም ተጠያቂነት ይወስዳል። በዚህም ተስማምተናል። ይህ ነገር ሲፈጠር ህወሃት አስቀድሞ ተስማምቶበታል። ሌሎችም ተስማምተውበታል።
– በዚህ ቅርብ ግዜ የተባለውን ልንገራችሁ። የትግራይ የበላይነት የሚባለውን ነገር እንዲቀር ህወሃት አንዳንድ ነገሮችን ማድረግ አለበት ተባለ። እኛ ጠርተን ስለመጣን በዝርዝር ነገር ላይ ብቻ ካወራን discuss ስናደርግ ይህ ንግግር ከዚህ ከኢህ አዴግ መምጣት የለበትም አልን። እኛ ነው የዘራነው። ስለዚህ እኛ እራሳችን እንታገለዋለን ብለው እራሳቸው መንቀሳቀስ ጅምረዋል። ይሳካል ወይም አይሳካም በአንድ ላይ ሆነን የምናየው ይሆናል። ከሁልም በላይ ግን መሳካት መቻል አለበት! ይህ ሁኔታ መቀየር መቻል አለበት! ሁላችንም አንድ ሆነን መነቀሳቀስ መቻል አለብን።

In a related development, in a recent discussion held on the ruling Front, EPRDF’s Television, Fana TV, pro-government media personalities and government advisers have critically denigrated the US government and the US Embassy in Addis Abeba. They lambasted the US Embassy for issuing a press release disagreeing with the declaration of SoE and attempts to “destroy the country.”
