Tamagne Beyene, an activist based in the US and Sisay Agena, a seasoned Ethiopian journalist also based in the US and editor of ESAT TV, have written an official letter to Getachew Assefa, Chief of Ethiopian National Intelligence and Security Service after the duets parents, based in Ethiopia were visited and threatened by the officers of Getachew’s Office. The duo said they would not be lured by the enticements offered nor with the threats and intimidation to hold their aging parents or children.
