Ahmed Nasir,51, Administrator of Beni Shangul Gumz Region of Ethiopia, for the past eight years has died.
He was appointed following the arrest of his predecessor, Yaregal Ayesheshum, who was detained on corruption related charges.
He was receiving medical help inside and outside of Ethiopia.
Amhed is survived by his son.
