Ethiopian State Television and Radio have reported on Prime Time news tonight that Colonel Haymanot Tesfaye, a top Ethiopian Defense Forces official and wife of Gebrewahid Woldegiorgis, the Deputy Director of the Ethiopian Revenue and Customs Authority (ERCA), has been detained this afternoon.
She was detained while trying to transfer and hide sensitive documents and files that belonged to her husband, who is under police custody on suspicion of corruption, the State TV and Radio reported.
It is to be recalled that the Ethiopian Federal Anti Corruption Commission (ACCA) had arrested Melaku Fenta, the Director General of ERCA and his Deputy, Gebrewahid Woldegiorgis and 14 other individuals on suspicion of corruption last Friday.
Various media outlets including the Ethiopian Satellite Television (ESAT) had many times reported with material and human evidences that there is a huge corruption within the Ethiopian Defense Forces.
