Amhara Region appoints 22 Cabinet Members; Tigre region remains untouched

Addis Ababa November 23,2016 The Amhara Regional Administration Council has appointed today 22 cabinet members.

Among them, 12 are new appointees while the remaining 10 retained their posts.

Chief Administrator of Amhara Regional State, Gedu Andargachew said the appointment was made based on educational background, experience, leadership capacity and willingness to serve the people.

The newly appointed cabinet members are:

1. Yilikal Kefyalew – Education Bureau Head
2. Dr. Abebaw Gebeyehu – Health Bureau Head
3. Molla Fetene – Water, Irrigation and Energy Bureau Head
4. Tsega Arage – Land Management and Utilization Bureau Head
5. Fisseha Woldesenbet – Administration and Security Affairs Bureau Head
6. Dr. Tilahun Mehari – Finance and Economic Cooperation Bureau Head
7. Dr. Hirut Kasaw – Culture and Tourism Bureau Head
8. Molla Jembare – Labor and Social Affairs Bureau Head
9. Mohammed Abdu – Revenues Authority Director-General
10. Dr. Belayneh Ayele – Environment, Forest and Wildlife

11. Laqe Ayalew – Technical, Vocational and Enterprises Bureau Head
12. Welela Mebratu (Female) – Youth and Sport Bureau Head

The remaining 10 officials who retained their previous posts are:

1. Binalf Andualem – Deputy Chief Administrator of the region state
2. Tesfaye Getachew – Trade, Industry and Market Development Bureau Head with the rank of Deputy Chief Administrator of the regional state
3. Dr. Teshome Wale -Agricultural Development Bureau Head
4. Genet Gebregzabiher (Female) – Urban Development Bureau Head
5. Jantirar Abay – Rural Road and Transport Bureau Head
6. Firde Chearu – Justice Bureau Head
7. Fantaye Tibabu (Female) – Women and Children Affairs Bureau Head
8. Geleta Seyoum – Civil Service and Human Resources Development Bureau Head
9. Nigusu Tilahun – Government Communication Affairs Office Director-General
